A historic county seat that keeps growing
Brandon was incorporated in 1831 and named for Gerard Brandon, an early Mississippi governor. It’s the county seat of Rankin County, home to the Downtown Brandon Historic District, the Rankin County Courthouse and the Black Rose Theatre Company. Today about 25,000 people live in Brandon, east of Jackson across the Pearl River. Its neighborhoods include older homes near downtown and plenty of newer subdivisions.

- Drainage: grading that sends water away from the house and hardscape instead of letting it pond, plus French drains and other drainage solutions where needed
- Consistent moisture: irrigation that avoids the extreme wet-dry swings clay dislikes
- Right plants: trees and shrubs that tolerate heavy soils and zone 8b heat
Planting for comfort and curb appeal
A great patio still needs a great setting. We use layered planting to give a Brandon backyard privacy, shade and year-round interest:
