A small town with deep roots
Flora became a stop on the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad in 1883 and was incorporated in 1886. Its old railroad depot is now a museum listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Just outside town is the Mississippi Petrified Forest, a reminder that this landscape has been a long time in the making. Flora is small, with about 1,650 residents, and the U.S. Census counts the whole town as rural. Many properties have more room and more trees than a typical suburban lot.

Can a rock creek bed help with drainage?
